Questions

Do I need to be a pilot to read it?
No. It assumes no prior knowledge and no mathematics. Pilots are the audience it was written for, but anyone curious about how a jet engine works can follow it.
Is it specific to one engine type?
No. It explains the modern high-bypass turbofan in general, using examples from engines you will recognize, including those on the Boeing 787.
Are there diagrams?
No. Every part of the engine is built in words, so the book can be read straight through rather than decoded.
